I rarely find the time to be able to sit down, and write a good old fashioned blog post, and I often find myself grabbing my camera and talking to that instead, which when you think about it, is a little bit lazy. Therefore, I decided to create a written diary entry as to the journey to Hastings, our filming location.
Jasmine's Aunt was incredible, and said that she would drive Jasmine and I down to the lodge and let me stay for the evening. Unfortunately, Jasmine FaceTimed me in the morning to tell me her Hamster had died which was the saddest part of the day, but if you ask me, it was better off happening on a day where we was going to have a lot of fun, to help keep Jasmine's mind off of Pablo. I was picked up at about 12am and the drive went incredibly quickly, partly thanks to Jayne's driving and partly thanks to the in-car DJ, otherwise known as MC Jasmine. Nothing makes a car journey go faster than a mixture of Ariana Grande, George Michael and The Jackson 5, all of which leave you feeling like you have just travelled through every musical era that exists. When we arrived at the lodge, it was about 2pm, so we decided to head down into Hastings town, where we had the most amazing ice cream, but I ate mine so quickly that I decided to pretend that I only ordered a cone so that Jasmine's family didn't judge me as the fat pig that I am, sorry Jayne! By the time we got back to the lodge later that evening, the day was pretty much over, so Jasmine, Jayne, Harry and I sat down to play the most hilarious card games, which you can see over on Jasmines blog (www.JammyMedia.weebly.com) Equipment List (Left to Right):
Sony NEX-3N Velbon Tripod Philips 64Gb SD Card Apple USB-C to USB Adapter External Power Pack MacBook Pro 20th Century Fox:
The 20th Century Fox logo is based around a monument displaying the 20th Century Fox logo and text. The font itself is sans serif which could connote that the company are modern and produce films that are made for the modern person and family. There are spotlights placed around the logo and this could show that 20th Century Fox are in the spotlight for the films that they produce and that they are well known. Dreamworks Animation: The Dreamworks Animation logo features a boy sitting on the moon, in the clouds fishing. This idea is related to the idea of a boy dreaming as he is seen to be in the clouds. Also the idea of fishing is something that could be related to being a young boy. The font is serif font and this could show that the company takes a traditional approach to the creation of films. The colour of the letters changes as you go thorough the word and they use colours which relate well to children. Metro Goldwyn Mayer Metro Goldwyn Mayer was founded in 1924 making it one of the oldest film production companies. The logo comprises of a lion surrounded by golden text and shapes. The use of the colour gold could connote the idea that the MGM is a more premium and wealthy company. The idea of the lion could also show that MGM are one of the most powerful film companies. Paramount Productions The logo for paramount productions is a mountain with the text for paramount wrapped around the mountains with some stars. The whole idea of the mountains shows that they are paramount in excelling in what they do. The stars may also show how popular they are and how good they are at what they do. The font itself is sans serif which could show that they are taking a more modern approach and moving with the time. Electronic press kits are ways in which films and film production companies can target their audience in order to attract larger audiences in general. Below are some examples of film press kits. These kits are mainly different types of posters that would be places in public areas, and they help to show narrative and genre hints as to what type of film it is advertising.
